Wouldn’t it be nice, imagine, if Leadership were guided by respect and trust, rather than ignorance and contempt, of Intelligentsia’s insight and perception?

Small children like to play
Old ladies like to pray
Some people talk all day
With nothing good to say
Some poets work all day
And still can’t find a way
To move stone hearts and sway
Society’s moré.

Why is the Limerick so effective?    To illustrate rhythm’s power, strip away the thoughts, words, ideas, push it all to pure sound, and Hearers can see how just the rhythm can affect feeling (one can almost hear the metronome)

can throw it back out of balance, stir a feeling of misfittedness or discomfiture, which can be quite useful if that is the desired effect.

Grave trusts, spiting Reason,we’ve breached —

Too bad for us all we keep accepting inherited hatreds, historical wars, ancient feuds renewed anew each new generation, handed down to, but also accepted by, each new generation anew, enduring inequity opulent affluence atop crushing destitution, Few’s luxuriation atop Wee’s desperation enslaved suffering poverty hunger deprived misery at the cost of lost potentials of starved and wasted minds.

I just can’t get my head around the idea that thousands of our children today, any of whom could grow up to cure cancer, world hunger, warp speed space travel, thousands of potential great minds wasted every year, sacrificed to age-old conflicts and wars that stem basically from what some scienceless wandering goatheard said five thousand years ago.    Sometimes in Evolution, what’s best for the multiplication of a species is terrible for its individual members, but just like Everyone Else who Ever Lived, we have a chance to make it better.
